Step 4 : Adding Buttons

To add buttons, click on <Add Button #>. The buttons will appear on the keypad in the following order:

              1 - 4 buttons:  5 - 8 buttons:









If you do not put a button in a specific slot, this place will be blank on the keypad, so you could have a keypad that looks like this:










Clicking on                                                          will bring up any buttons previously made in the BUTTONS tab, which you can select, or to create a new button, click on New Button.  This will bring up the NEW BUTTON page.
























To create a button, input what you want the physical button to say in the first line, marked Name.  Under BUTTON STRING NUMBER, input the keypad address, then the button number, followed by a 6.  These numbers can be found on the design center report "Engraving Detail"

** YOU MUST PUT THE SPACES BETWEEN THE NUMBERS!

You then have the option of turning the Default Commands ON or OFF.  
When this is in the                position, it will fill in the Send Command and Response Command with the BSN number you imputted, which will automatically enable feedback and change the LED according to the button's status.  In the                position, the information will be entered as shown.  You can also opt to enter this information manually.

Click the           button in the upper right hand corner when you have finished editing your button, and this will automatically add it to the keypad.

To add a button that was previously made to the keypad, tap the button and a check mark will appear letting you know that this button is to be added to the keypad.  You can check and add up to 8 buttons.














You can create these buttons by clicking into the BUTTONS tab.




This will open the BUTTONS page.  From this page you can create new buttons, and edit existing buttons.















To create a new button, click the         in the top right corner and the NEW BUTTON page will appear and you can follow the steps above. To edit a button, simply click on the name of the button you want to update, and from the page that opens you can make the necessary changes.

When you have finished creating and editing your button, press           .


Do this for each button and each keypad.  To remove a button or keypad, go to their respective tabs and slide (do not tap) your finger along the button or keypad name and             will appear. You can add up to 10 keypads, and each can have from one to eight buttons.

** Please remember that the send commands MUST BE CAPITAL LETTERS VSW, as well as the response commands VLS# <Button String Number>. Also make sure that there are spaces between the necessary numbers.

To return to the remote when you have created all of the keypads, click           at the top right corner of the KEYPADS tab.

** PLEASE NOTE that pushing buttons on the app gives you real-time feedback that the button has been pushed, and the command sent.  If buttons are physically pushed within the home however, the app will not immediately update, but it is set to update automatically every 30 seconds. 
If you choose not to downlad version 2.0 of the app, we recommend that you add an UPDATE button to the 1st keypad, that will allow you to recieve the most current status of all the buttons.  The BUTTON STRING NUMBER to input is: 1 100 1 6
